FFLIPBOX

For support teams

Writing setup docs that mention Flipbox? Here are the accurate steps.

If your team documents iPhone setup for your customers, this page gives you exact field labels, copy-ready instructions, and the troubleshooting one-liners that close tickets — so anything you publish about Flipbox is correct the day you publish it.

Read this first

Flipbox is a neutral player. It ships no channels, no content, and no provider links, and that never changes. We don't operate listing arrangements, co-marketing, activation fees, or revenue programs of any kind — there is nothing to apply for and nobody to talk to about one. Whether and how you document any player for your customers is entirely your decision; we just keep these facts current.

What your customers need on their side

  • An iPhone or iPad running a current iOS version, and Flipbox from the App Store (free download; a free tier exists — see notes below).
  • Their credentials from you — either an Xtream login (server URL with port, username, password) or an M3U link, plus an EPG/XMLTV URL if the M3U route is used.

Copy-ready: Xtream login steps

The field labels below match the app exactly, so screenshots and text stay in sync with what customers see.

Paste into your KB

1. Install Flipbox from the App Store and open it.
2. Tap Add playlist, then choose Xtream login.
3. Enter the details from your welcome message:
   • Server — the full address including the port (for example http://your-server:8080), nothing after the port
   • Username — exactly as sent (case-sensitive)
   • Password — exactly as sent
4. Tap Connect. Channels, movies & series, and the TV guide load automatically — no separate EPG step is needed.
5. Optional: run the one-tap Cleanup preview to fold duplicate HD/FHD/4K channel entries.

Copy-ready: M3U link steps

Paste into your KB

1. Install Flipbox from the App Store and open it.
2. Tap Add playlist, then choose M3U URL.
3. Paste the full M3U link from your welcome message, unchanged.
4. Paste the EPG URL (XMLTV) in the same screen so the TV guide fills in.
5. Tap to load. Optional: run the one-tap Cleanup preview to fold duplicate channel entries.

Recommend the m3u_plus export with m3u8 (HLS) output where your panel offers formats — m3u_plus carries the logos and tvg-id tags that make guides and artwork work, and HLS is Flipbox's native engine. Suggest ts only if your HLS output misbehaves; raw .ts streams aren’t guaranteed to play in the launch version.

Troubleshooting one-liners that close tickets

Symptom → what to tell the customer
Customer reportsLikely causeOne-line fix
“Invalid login”Copy-paste error or expired lineRe-copy each field separately (watch for spaces and capitals); confirm the line is active in your panel.
“Playlist won't load”Mangled URL or wrong portResend the link; have them paste it whole, including the :port.
“No TV guide”M3U added without an EPG URLSend your XMLTV URL; it goes in the playlist's EPG field. (Xtream customers get it automatically.)
“Guide times are off by hours”Timezone offsets in the XMLTV feedCheck the feed's timestamps carry offsets (e.g. +0000) — testable in seconds at flipbox.app/tools/epg-checker.
“Stream stops when the TV plays”Connection limit on the lineExplain the plan's simultaneous-stream count; offer a multi-connection plan if you sell one.
“Buffers at 9 pm only”Peak congestion (server or home Wi-Fi)Point them at flipbox.app/setup/buffering-fix — it isolates the cause in three tests.

Deeper flows you can link instead of writing: Xtream login · M3U setup · EPG repair · buffering diagnosis. German and Brazilian-Portuguese versions of the four setup guides exist under /de/ and /pt-br/.

Facts to set customer expectations correctly

  • Free tier: one playlist, live TV with instant zapping, a 3-hour guide window, first favourite list, cleanup preview, parental controls, and backup. A small corner watermark appears on the free tier.
  • Pro: unlimited playlists (enables automatic failover between lines), 24-hour guide depth, cleanup apply, Picture in Picture, catch-up playback of streams the line exposes, unlimited favourite lists. US$3.99/month, US$24.99/year with a 7-day trial, or lifetime (US$69.99; US$49.99 founding price).
  • Catch-up: Flipbox plays the catch-up streams a line exposes; if your panel doesn't publish them, the feature correctly won't appear for that customer.
  • Privacy: the app has no accounts and no analytics; customer credentials stay on the customer's device. Nothing about your customers reaches us.

Screenshots for knowledge bases

Setup-screen captures sized for help-desk articles will be posted here at launch, unmodified and free to use in customer documentation.

If a step here ever drifts from what the app shows, tell us at support@flipbox.app and we'll fix this page — keeping it accurate is the only relationship this page has with anyone.
